Whether you are touring the Medina in Marrakech, exploring the Souks or relaxing by the pool in your Riad, these versatile pieces will have you covered.

As well as being a great way to accessorize your outfit, a scarf can be used for a number of practical purposes while in Morocco.

Use it as a headscarf to protect your hair and face from the scorching sun on a Sahara camel tour, or wear it around your shoulders or chest when entering religious sites.

Keep in mind that covering your head is not mandatory as some bloggers might have you believe.

A reusable water bottle is essential for any trip, but especially in a country like Morocco where tap water is not always safe to drink. I like to pack a reusable water bottle that can be refilled with filtered water. This way I don’t have to buy plastic bottles of water and I can stay hydrated throughout the day.

A small backpack or cross-body bag is perfect for carrying your essentials while exploring Morocco. I like to pack a lightweight cross body bag that can be easily and safely carried around all day.

If you are visiting Morocco regardless of what time of year, I would recommend packing your swimwear. Swimming outdoors in winter may be too cold for some but if you are staying in a resort or hotel with a heated pool, it can be the perfect way to relax after a long day of exploring.

I always travel with a small first aid kit and I would recommend packing one for your trip to Morocco as well. This should include items like band-aids, painkillers, antidiarrheal medication, and insect repellent.

What NOT to pack for Morocco

As a general rule, you will want to avoid anything that is too tight, too short, or too revealing. This goes for both men and women. This includes items like shorts, tank tops, and revealing dresses.
