While the summer may be peak season, you can be plagued with long lines at popular locations. To avoid overcrowded attractions (while still enjoying the weather) it is best to visit in the shoulder season, spring or fall.
Spring in our opinion is the ideal time to visit as flowers begin to bloom with the occasional rain that makes the scent of the city even sweeter.

Montmartre is a charming artsy neighborhood and a must-see, especially on your honeymoon. It has always been a favorite spot for artists, writers, and filmmakers. Visit the Basilica of Sacré Coueur, a beautiful white church of the Sacred Heart. Sit on the steps and you will be awed by panoramic views of all of Paris.

There is an abundance of romantic activities available such as the Musée de la Vie Romantique (Museum of Romantic Life) which is free to tour. The main attraction is the house itself and its beautiful garden. It also has a small exhibition of jewelry and paintings of George Sand.
Even just strolling the streets can easily fill an entire day. Artists are often seen working on their paintings. Don’t be surprised if you come home with a souvenir. One of the more interesting parts of our walks was finding Le Clos Montmartre, a vineyard in the middle of the city. While it is closed to the public, it is viewable from the road (and it still produces wine each year).

Paris is most beautiful at dusk, as the sun gleams on the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, and many other architectural marvels. You will also get to see the bridges and buildings lit if you book a sunset cruise.
There’s nothing as lovely and romantic as having an outdoor picnic in Paris. Lucky for you there are plenty of parks across the city to explore. A personal favorite is the Jardin du Luxembourg (Luxembourg Gardens) in the 6th arrondissement. It originated in 1612 as the Luxembourg Palace, home of Marie de’ Medici. These days it is a pristine park and a perfect place to sit and admire the local way of life.
Notre Dame Cathedral is a must-see when looking for things to do on a honeymoon in Paris. Built between 1163 and 1245, it is one of the world’s oldest and most recognized cathedrals.

While roaming near Notre Dame Cathedral make a slight detour at the Marché aux Fleurs Reine Elizabeth II. The flower market began operations in the 19th century and contains a wide variety of flowers, decorative plants, live birds, and handcrafted treasures. Located within a short walk from Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle is one of the most beautiful chapels in the world. Known for its incredible stained glass, it has the largest collection from the 13th century. This royal chapel is within the medieval Palais de la Cité. Completed in 1248 in a Gothic flair, it will take less than an hour to tour. You will be captured by its breathtaking beauty that has lasted centuries.

If you love art or culture the Louvre Museum is the place to start. This internationally famous art museum holds numerous beautiful works of art including Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and far too many others to list.

To avoid waiting in long lines buy your Louvre tickets in advance. The best time to visit is after 3 pm to avoid heavy foot traffic (especially in peak season). They also offer night viewings on Wednesdays and Fridays until 9:45 pm which can be romantic to see on your honeymoon.

Another splendid museum to visit during your honeymoon in Paris is the Musée d’Orsay located on the left bank of the Seine River. The building is a historic railway station built in 1900.
The museum specializes in French artwork from 1848 to 1914. You will find world-renowned pieces from Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Edward Manet, and more!
Champs Elysee is famous for being the World’s Most Beautiful Avenue with high-end stores, cafes, and gorgeous scenery!
