Agadir is located in the southwest of Morocco.

The city of Agadir is situated on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and lies about 10 km north of the mouth of the Sous valley.

Agadir is bordered by the Anti-Atlas mountains to the south and the Sahara desert to the east.

Agadir is about a two-hour flight from Marrakech but it stretches to 4 hours if you take a bus (CTM or Supratour).

The fastest way to get to Agadir from Marrakech is obviously by flying but the bus is the cheapest way to get there.

If you are trying to get to Agadir from Casablanca, there are two options:

  1. You can fly. The flight takes about an hour and a half
  2. Take the CTM or Supratour bus. The bus takes around seven hours.

If you fly to Agador, the Airport is located about 20 kilometers from the city center.

There are taxis and buses that can take you to your hotel in Agadir from the airport. Also, consider requesting a hotel transfer from your hotel or Riad if they have one.

You can also hire a car from Agadir airport. The roads to the city center are good you just need to follow your GPS location on google.

In addition to using public transport, you can consider hiring a car in Morocco. This way you can make your trip to Agadir much more enjoyable.

Hiring a car in Morocco is a great option if you are planning to explore other parts of Morocco as well.

Absolutely! Agadir is a famous tourist destination in Morocco and it’s busy all year round so you won’t feel out of place or unsafe as a foreigner.

Agadir is generally a safe place to travel solo, in fact, I would say it’s one of the safest cities in Morocco.

Of course, you should always take precautions when traveling to any new place and be aware of your surroundings but Agadir is relatively safe compared to other cities in Morocco such as Casablanca or Fez.

The most important thing is not to flash your valuables around and to be cautious at night.

Agadir is a beach town so there are always people around during the day but it can get quite deserted at night.

I would highly recommend taking a taxi or walking in pairs after dark just to be on the safe side.

The good news is that Agadir has a subtropical climate which means that it’s warm all year round. The average temperature in Agadir is 21 degrees Celsius.

Agadir is a famous surfing destination, so if you are into surfing you should visit Agadir between the months of October and March when the waves are at their best.

If you are not into surfing, I would still recommend visiting Agadir between October and April when the weather is milder and there are fewer tourists.

Keep in mind that Agadir would be really busy during the summer months (July and August) when Moroccans have their annual vacation so if you are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, I visit Agadir outside of these months.

Surfing is one of the most popular things to do in Agadir.

The city is a famous surfing destination and it’s easy to see why. Agadir has great waves and in case you don’t know how to surf there are plenty of surf schools where you can take beginner surfing classes.

There are plenty of golden sandy beaches where you can enjoy racing the waves. But the most famous surf spot is undoubtedly Taghazout.

The most famous beach in the city is Agadir beach which is located right in the city center. Agadir beach is a great place to relax, sunbathe, and people-watch.

If you are looking for a more secluded beach experience, I recommend heading to Imourane beach which is located about 20 kilometers from Agadir.

This beach is less crowded and it’s the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Agadir.
