The European flags are symbols of several diverse nations. Europe is one of the smallest and yet most influential regions in the world, culturally, linguistically, and politically.

There are few similarities among all European flags. However, a prominent symbol is a cross or crucifix, which is visible on many these flags listed below. Also, many European flags feature vertical and horizontal tricolor patterns.
